Grid tied Solution with Eskom wheeling.


The plant was designed to support an irrigation farmer at Disselfontein close to Hopetown.  The farmer had a 75kw pump that irrigated via a Pivot on a pre-scheduled program due to insufficient Eskom power.


Yield & Performance  | The plant was over-designed with a wheeling agreement with Eskom.  The 181kwp plant was built in 6 weeks and is delivering 1,3Mwh and 1.7Mwh per day.  The farmer irrigates between 8-11hrs per day with this system.

CUT (The Central University of Technology) embarked on an energy saving journey and is now home to a world-class solar project.


Yield & Performance  | The 12 D100 Trackers where installed and integrated with the main ring of the campus.  The system is a 151kwp system and generating between 1235kwh and 1400kwh per day. The trackers generation period is between 11-13,4hrs per day.

A study to evaluate the performance and efficiency of the Dual Axis Deger Tracker.


17 x Dual axis trackers. 15 Trackers fitted with Solar World 285W Mono modules and 2 trackers fitted with 270W Bisun modules.  Each tracker is fitted with a STP 15000 inverter to allow for generation above STC.


Yield & Performance  |  The 202kW plant is generating between 1600 -1900kWh per day.  A record performance of 2408kWh was recorded in Nov 2016.

Yield & Performance | Top 8.5 Single axis : 2,56kWp-20kWh per day, S60H Single axis tracker : 3,84kWp- 30kWh per day.

DE BRON - BOOSTER PUMP STATION

Due to the high cost of agricultural land in this region, the only area where a renewable solution could be installed, was on the dam wall. The system is grid tied with net metering for self-consumption. The system supply power for the booster pumps to the pump station.


The system consists of 16 x D100 dual-axis trackers on 4m masts. Each tracker fits 36 x Canadian Solar 380W modules. SMA Core 1 inverters where installed.

Yield & Performance  | The plant design is around 209kW DC. The average yield calculated for the site is 1504kWh/day.

The plant was designed for the operation of the renewable offices of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).


The system consists of 4 x 5000NT Deger dual-axis with MLD trackers on 6m masts. Three trackers are fitted with 20 x Canadian Solar 395W modules and one tracker is fitted with 20 x Jinko Solar 330W modules. SMA Core1 inverter was installed.

VOORTREKKER MONUMENT

Hybrid Grid tied Solution on main ring for own consumption.


The Voortrekker Monument embarked on their renewable energy journey and became one of the first South African historical sites to install renewable energy at their premises.


Yield & Performance  | The 3 x D100 dual axis Trackers were installed and integrated with the main ring of the Monument. The system is a 45kWp hybrid system that is connected to a hybrid inverter and battery, to sustain the standby requirement, with a generator and fuel saving functionality.
